Are your family pets distracting potential Buyers?
As a home seller, you want to maximize the number of people that your home appeals to and minimize distractions. Your loving family pet can be just the distraction that loses a sale. No matter how friendly your pets are, there is a segment of the population that is terrified of them often from a previous unpleasant experience. Cultural view on animals in the home can also be a deterrent.
When you list your home for sale, take cleanliness a step further if you have animals. Be mindful that although you may not smell your pet, others definitely will. Have the carpets professionally cleaned, wash any pet bedding, and be sure to give litter boxes frequent attention. If possible, remove your pet(s) during showings or crate them so as not to deter an Realtor from showing your home. You want Buyers to see your homes value and potential, not be distracted by your pets.
